Summer Makeup Trends And How To Wear Them ( 2020 )

Summer is in full swing and we are now allowed to spend time with friends, so with all the activities happening makeup is back on the radar! Let's talk about the trends this summer and how it is possible to implement them in your daily makeup routine. I must warn you, some are more wearable than others :) Let's get started !

Great news for bold lipstick lovers! Fuchsia aka magenta is in trend this summer! What an amazing colour to wear with a bit of tan! If you a red lip kind a girl, spice things up and add fuchsia over your favourite red lipliner. If you are someone who doesn’t suit or doesn’t like bold lipstick, there is a great alternative for you: lip staines and lip glosses are also big this year! Pick a lighter shade of fuchsia and stay in trend!

YSL Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick Fucchia Allusion is a beautiful colour choice and will suit many skin tones. RRP £30, currently on discount at £21.

Another great lip colour I can suggest is from Clinique Pop Matte Lip Colour and Primer in the shade Rose Pop, RRP £21. It is a beautiful velvet lipstick that glides on smooth, has a semi-matt finish and is very comfortable to wear.

If you are looking to treat yourself with some luxury, try Christian Louboutin Loubilaque Lip Lacquer - Bengali in the shade Fuchsa, RRP £65. This lip gloss has an intense, mirror-like shine.

TIP. Pair it up with a stronger lipliner to get a sharper finish and different undertone. Use fuchsia over your red lip liner for deeper juicier undertones.

Over the top, you heard it! Blush it up on the apples of the cheeks, over the temples or even underneath the brow bone. That's right, just like they did it in the 80's ! If you feel like it is all too much and will make you look like a crazy person, just add a slightly stronger blusher than usual, it all counts. However if you are like me, not a big fan of a super strong blusher, don’t worry, there are other trends available :)

Try Anastasia Beverly Hills Blush Trios. They come with there different blush tones that will cover you for many occasions. RRP £30

TIP. Mix the colours to achieve your personal shade. Use your blusher as an eyeshadow and add it to your eyelids, or just add a waft of colour on top of the colour you already have to tie the whole makeup together and add some freshness to the look.

Great news for full lash lovers. Thickening mascaras and individual falsies have never been handier! Don't be shy, add an extra layer or two to your usual application.

Going out ? Try something different by adding an individual bottom lash! Think 60’s.

My current favourite mascaras are Tarteist from Tart Cosmetics RRP £21, Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes 5 Star Mascara RRP £23 and Illamasqua Massquara Mascara RRP £20.

Illamasqua kindly offered a 25% discount to my followers. To receive the discount, enter the promo code TAMARA25 at checkout.

Neons are my favourite colours when it comes to creative makeup looks. I know they are difficult to implement into a usual makeup routine without being too out there! Neon is an amazing colour choice for a festival season, or a house party in our case :)

Be as daring as you like! A neon eyeliner or a full on neon eye paint it all goes this summer!

Great products that will help you to achieve the look are Anastasia Beverly Hills Norvina Electric Cake Liners RRP £31 and Huda Beauty Neon Obsessions Palettes RRP £27

A wash of blue watercolour or a strong navy accent are both big this year!

Blue is one of the hardest colours to wear, but there are few tricks on how to implement it in your makeup routine. The easiest way to wear blue is to apply it on the waterline. Yes, just like our moms used to :) Another quick way of staying in trend - is a colourful eyeliner. If not daring enough, just apply a navy eyeshadow over your black liner and enjoy a deep navy finish. For smokey eye lovers - try to mix in a shade of blue in your smokey eye routine. Et voila - trendy you are!

My new favourite coloured eyeliners are L’Oreal Paris Matte Signature Liquid Eyeliner RRP £8.99. They are matt, smudge proof and very affordable. The pigment is very bright and the product is easy to apply. I have them in all the colours.

Another wearable product I can recommend is an eyeshadow from Urban Decay in shade Evidence RRP £15. The eyeshadow is very soft and very pigmented, it is easy to pick up on the brush or a finger and also easy to blend.

If you want to treat yourself to something more exclusive, try Yves Saint Laurent Full Matte Shadow 06 Rebel Blue RRP £27 .

I hope you enjoyed reading about the latest trends and my tips on how to were them.

Have a wonderful week everyone!
